This third nine weeks 4th graders
will begin preparing to take the National Reading Test.  We will also
be reading non-fiction books. Skills
will be another area we will hit really, really hard.  PLEASE be sure your
child is reading 100 minutes a week
and working toward their AR point goal and average.

Reading is so important at the elementary level.  Please make sure
that your child is reading 100 minutes every week. Grades will be taken on Fridays,  see the label inside the front cover of the reading log folder for the exact dates.  The procedure manual says that each student is responsible for: bringing his/her log to school daily (best if kept in binder), must write all information on log, read 100 minutes weekly and will have parents initial nightly on minutes read. I will hold each student to this.  If it is not done then he/she will miss their recess to either write the procedures or to read.
