Mustang Public Schools Named One Of America’s Best Employers
(Mustang, Oklahoma – August 31, 2020) – Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to pinpoint organizations liked best by employees in their second annual ranking of America’s best employers by state. Mustang Public Schools ranked number seven on this year's list of Oklahoma Employers just behind BOK Financial and ahead of WinStar World Casino.
Each year, Forbes partners with market research company Statista to measure up the leading employers around the country and the world by asking those in the best position to say: the workers. Since the employee experience can vary greatly depending on an organization’s size and the individual worker, our rankings look at large and midsize employers. Beginning in 2015 with America’s Best Employers, Forbes and Statista have since expanded the coverage to include those employers considered best for diversity, women and new graduates.
The list is divided into 51 rankings—one for each of the 50 states, plus the District of Columbia—and was compiled by surveying 80,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees. Surveys were conducted on a rolling basis from October 2019 to May 2020, and responses regarding the same employers were compared throughout the process, so as to account for any statistically significant variations in the results collected before and after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. The ranking features some companies whose appearance on the list, in light of recent events, might come as a surprise, but they are a reflection of the feeling of their own workforces at the time they were surveyed.
To determine the list, Statista surveyed 80,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees. All the surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions. The respondents were asked to rate their employers on a variety of criteria, including safety of work environment, competitiveness of compensation, opportunities for advancement and openness to telecommuting. Statista then asked respondents how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others, and to nominate organizations in industries outside their own. The number of businesses ranked in each state was dependent on two factors—the number of qualifying employers and the size of the state’s workforce—and those with operations in more than one state had the opportunity to be listed multiple times. The final list ranks the 1,461 employers that received the greatest number of recommendations in each of the 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia.
